Citing low return rates, the NFL has radically changed their kickoff rules for the 2024 season. The changes include putting the kicking team on the other side of the 50-yard line and within 10 yards of most of the receiving team. The changes are designed to avoid high-speed collisions, while maintaining kick returns as part of the game.
