The development of 6G technology is on the horizon. Meanwhile, the 5G vision of autonomous cars and smart cities has yet to be realized. The Chinese regime has aggressively pushed its 5G tech forward. But there’s a dark undertone to China’s smart cities. There, the smart city concept has been weaponized for population control. Mass surveillance and social control are being implemented at maximum level. Displaying unapproved behavior could render you unable to book plane or train tickets. At the same time, China is heavily influencing world tech standards. How do we counter China’s tech threat to democratic freedoms?

National security expert General Robert Spalding gives his insights into how this tech threat could take shape in America and what urgently needs to be done to counter it.

Hosted by NTD journalist Brendon Fallon, Wide Angle is following the latest political developments in the United States and abroad, and finding the connection between these and the larger global trends of our times.

Wide Angle is an NTD show available on YouTube and on the NTD website.
