Carmaker Ford Motor Company just isn’t having it with people who don’t make their auto payments! The company has a newly patented system that filed a patent for a system that would let cars repossess themselves! If you don’t pay up, your Ford could drive itself to a repo agency, or even to a scrapyard!

Ford explained the idea behind the patent. It says when car owners refuse to make payments several times, it could lead to confrontations with lenders, and this technology is trying to fix that.

In its patent application, Ford explains that after the owner refuses to pay multiple times, the lender has the right to repossess the vehicle. But, typically, the owners refuse to cooperate. They may even try to stop their car from being re-possessed. Ford says this can sometimes lead to “confrontation.” The system its introducing in the patent, is trying to solve this problem.
