10 Percent of Migrants Who Enter Darien Gap Don’t Survive: Michael Yon

While news coverage of it has slowed, the crisis at the southern border has not. The surge of illegal immigration continues due to U.S. policies that essentially encourage people from all corners of the world to come to the United States.

War correspondent Michael Yon joins us from Panama, where for three months he’s been interviewing people who’ve made the hellish trek through the Darien Gap, a dense jungle between Colombia and Panama. It’s a critical choke point on the journey north. Yon says about 10 percent of those who enter, don’t make it out.
