Seventeen years ago, firefighter Mike Hughes rescued nine-month-old Danielle Davison from a fire that engulfed her house. When the girl was graduating from high school, she asked her saviour to come to the ceremony. In a moving speech, she said: «The fact that Mike is here today, at this ceremony, is very important for me. I don’t know really how to describe it, these are happy tears in my eyes which come from realising how things could have gone wrong. I would not be here if not for you.»

Joyce Gilos Torrefranca of Mandaue, the Philippines saw this little boy and took a picture of him. He was doing his homework outside by the light of a McDonald’s restaurant.
