16 years old mom forced to give up baby, 40 years later her wish was granted

Is your social status more important than pure, motherly love for your child? Read on how this young mother of 16 was forced to give up her baby for adoption, just to keep appearances in society.

Merely after 10 days with her baby, Rowena Fuller’s parents ripped the infant from her arms in a parking lot and handed her over to an adoption agent. This happened all the way back in 1973. Fuller’s mother forced her to make the most horrifying decision of her life when she became pregnant at 16.

In the ITV’s video below, Fuller shares her life long pain. Fuller knew that her mother, who was obsessed with appearances, would force her to have an abortion — so she kept her pregnancy a secret until she was six months along.

“My mother was worried about losing her place at the golf club… My dad told me to grow up, even when I begged him to let me keep Nicola,” Fuller said. “It was so callous, so unfeeling. My mother couldn’t even come to grips with the idea that I could love this child – as far as she was concerned, it was a little bastard and that was it.”

Then her mother forced her to give up her baby girl, Nicola, for adoption so that she wouldn’t be kicked out of a high-society club.  After 10 days with her baby, Fuller’s parents ripped her from her arms in a parking lot and handed her over to an adoption agent.

She felt like a piece of her heart was ripped out.

For the next 40 years, her mother would pretend as if Nicola didn’t exist. Fuller told her mother she would never forgive her. When her mother was on her deathbed, Fuller expected an apology, but she didn’t get one.

The only thing Fuller would have of Nicola was a photograph of the child at 1 year old, sent to her by the adoptive parents. Fuller posted a photo of her baby girl on Facebook with a letter begging for help her.

But society can be cruel and judgmental!

What’s worse is that many people began to bully Fuller, blaming her for getting pregnant so young and not fighting to keep her child. When she appeared on the talk show This Morning, she begged her daughter again to contact her if she was watching.

It worked.  They were reunited just days later.

“Nicola and I have made contact privately and would appreciate it if you could give us quiet time now to get to know each other,” Fuller revealed on Facebook.
