Ch Akshay Raj, 17, was filming a video for Instagram near the Kazipet railway station in Telangana, southern India, on Sept. 4, when he was hit by a train.

Raj was walking about half a meter from the railway, according to the video, when a train appeared and hit the young man. Raj fell to the ground and was bleeding from his ear.

Railway police immediately took him to a state hospital and then relatives transferred him to a private clinic, according to local media. He has non-life-threatening facial wounds and a fractured leg bone. He is expected to have a full recovery.

Raj is a university student, and he was filming a video for Instagram Reels, according to local media reports.

Railway employees warned him not to walk too close to the rails, but he disregarded them, according to local reports.

Railway police are investigating the incident.

Last year, a Chinese social media video creator fell to her death from 160 feet, while allegedly filming a video for social media. Xiao Qiumei, 23, worked as a crane operator and had a following of 100,000 on her social media account.

Another social media persona, Sofia Cheung, fell to her death on July 11 while taking a photo. Cheung, 32, was from Hong Kong. She tried to take a photo for her Instagram profile next to a waterfall, but fell and lost her life.
