The 1776 Commission explained the importance of the ideas and principles inscribed in the Declaration of Independence, one of them being that all are created equal.
It also addressed concepts that challenged those principles, including slavery, fascism, and communism.
Another challenge is identity politics, the idea that society should be run based on a person’s race, gender, or other group identity.
