22 Years Since Large Peaceful Protest in China

Twenty-two years ago on April 25, tens of thousands of people gathered in Beijing to ask for the right to practice their faith freely. It remains the largest peaceful protest in China since the Tiananmen Massacre in 1989. The event was later used by the Chinese regime to justify a bloody crackdown. A participant who went face-to-face with one of China’s top leaders that day spoke to NTD about a rare moment in Chinese history.
