26-carat diamond bought with $8 expected to fetch $455,000 at auction

A genuine 26-carat diamond was sold to a woman for $8 at a trunk sale in England in the 1980s.

Due to its large size, both the seller and buyer thought it was costume jewelry.

It was found to be a white diamond from the 19th century.

The diamond will be sold at auction in London next month. It is expected to fetch $455,000.
