A $270,000 Ferrari 458 Spider left a trail of destruction after it hit a garden at a home in Bath, England, on Saturday, Jan. 6, according to local reports.

The Spider left a roundabout, crossed the pavement, and hit the garden before it ended up in a bush at 7:40 a.m., the Daily Mail reported. It knocked down two posts and suffered front end damage.

The driver told the homewower that the car’s accelerator got stuck, saying he couldn’t slow down, the Mail reported.

“My husband and son were awake and heard the crash,” the homeowner told the paper. “It woke me up and I ran straight down, checked the driver was OK, phoned police and made driver a cup of tea.”

“The driver said the throttle stuck on and he couldn’t slow down to take the roundabout,” the homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous, told the paper. “He lost control and went across the pavement, flattened two bollards [posts)] that the council put in and went through all my recycling and rubbish—luckily not a person.”

The woman said that she and other residents called on the city of Bath and the East Somerset Council to put up a barrier around the roundabout as similar incidents have happened in the past. “Us and the other residents here have reported many incidents like this to the police, the council, highways and the local member of Parliament, to try and get a more substantial safety barrier installed,” she said, according to the Mirror.
