3.6-Magnitude Quake Shakes Missouri, Tennessee, and Arkansas

A 3.6-magnitude shook southern Missouri and adjacent states on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 16.

Caruthersville and Kennett, Missouri felt the quake most strongly, according to KFVS.

Locals in Dyersburg, Tennessee and Blytheville, Arkansas, also felt the quake.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake hit at about 7 miles deep along the New Madrid Fault.

Namely, the quake hit about 2 miles southwest of Caruthersville at 10:57 a.m. local time.

It’s not clear if there was any damage or injuries.
