Little boy joyfully gives away his toys to less fortunate kids at his special ‘lemonade stand’

Blake, 6 is unlike other children of his age. At his age while other children pester their parents for toys, Blake’s heart thinks of less fortunate children and gifts them his toys for free. He has a regular pop-up store in front of his home for it.

Melissa Work,  Blake’s mother and he have always shared an open and trusting relationship. She always believed that “If you don’t listen to the small things they want to tell you, they won’t tell you the big things”.

One night, after he was supposed to be in bed sleeping, Blake went to his mom’s room and crawled into bed next to her. As they were chatting away, his mom reminded him to clean up his room in the morning. Blake was not too enthusiastic, as he was thinking about all the toys taking up space in his room.

He started complaining to his mom, but Melissa reminded him how fortunate he is for having been given toys by loving friends and family members. His mother told him about all the children in the world who don’t have loving homes and families that care. Blake’s heart opened up and he suddenly had an idea … “I’m going to build a pop-up store and put my toys out for people to take home for free. Besides, I have too many,” Blake thought.

Melissa loved Blake’s idea, so they started planning …

Blake rounded up his toys and set them on a stand in front of his home. He wrote a sign which said; “Cheer-up kids, come to Blake’s house, I have free toys for you!”

Melissa put up ads on a local selling website.

A contract worker in the area, came first and obtained a big robot action toy for his grandson. Blake had his photo taken smiling ear to ear with the man.

First visitor on Blake's stand was a contractor who worked across the street.

According to Huffington Post, the news had a ripple effect and in no time the neighborhood kids were also donating their own toys to Blake’s Pop-up stand. Blake traded with them, and they obtained a soccer ball.

These two kids came forward and contributed their toys to Blake's stand.

A family came by, but they weren’t looking for toys, they needed books. Blake rushed into the house and selected some lovely children books for them. They were delighted.

Blake’s actions were  innocent and pure. He felt it in his heart to give his beloved gifts away to others who might enjoy having them to play with.

Blake's teacher dropped in to support him.

At the end of the day, Blake still had many toys to give away. He donated them to his school for kids to earn for good work.

Blake’s mom always knew he was a great kid with a big heart – she’s very proud of her 6 yr old.

Blake’s actions created a wonderful image of unselfishness regarding possessions. Giving is such joy !
