President Donald Trump welcomed Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to the White House on May 3.

“It’s a great honor to have the president with us,” said Trump.

Trump emphasized how much he hoped to move forward with Mideast peace

“We are going to have discussions and hopefully something terrific can come out between the Palestinians and Israel,” Trump said.

“They been working on that one a long time, it’s been a long, long time and maybe we can end that journey and start a much better journey, right?” commented Trump.

Trump probably plans to urge Abbas to consider policy changes that would facilitate reopening peace talks with Israel.
