Hide and seek just got dangerous.
A young boy who was in the midst of playing hide and seek with his sister got stuck in his hiding spot—a washing machine.
The 7-year-old-boy had to be rescued by a team of firefighters in the strange incident in the city of Kharkov, Eastern Ukraine, Metro UK reported.
The boy, whose name was not released, was reportedly playing hide and seek with his sister inside their families flat.
The boy likely thought he had found the perfect hiding place when he crawled into the washing machine, according to Metro.
But once he climbed inside, he found he was stuck and couldn’t get out. He was forced to shout out for help, revealing his hiding place.
Family members tried in vain to pull the boy out of the front-loader, and were forced to call emergency services for help.
A team of four firefighters arrived and, after assessing the peculiar situation, decided to cover the boy in sunflower oil, making it easier to slide him out, Metro UK reported.
During the 20-minute rescue operation, the firefighters also used a plastic fan to give the boy more air because he was feeling claustrophobic in the tight space of the washing machine.
After almost no work, the youngster easily slid out of the machine, almost without help.
One of the firefighters recorded the incident on his smartphone and it has since spread online.
When the boy was freed, the firefighters checked him to make sure he had no injuries before handing him back to his relieved mother.
The firefighters later said the boy showed courage for not shedding any tears throughout the ordeal.
