A Chinese Tariff Hike on Pork From EU Negative for Both Sides: Professor

Beijing has launched an investigation into pork prices from the European Union, in response to Brussels planning to hike tariffs on electric vehicles from China. Daniel Lacalle, professor of global economics at IE Business School, warns that a tariff hike will be bad for both China and the EU. For smaller economies in the European Union, like Spain, Mr. Lacalle said the move would certainly be negative and have a dangerous impact. Mr. Lacalle also weighed in on China’s crisis-hit property market and how the state could address it.
