‘A Critical Time’ for House to Get Back to Work: Jordan Says He Supports Scalise for House Speaker

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said on Wednesday that he would support Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) to become the next House speaker, and that he was working to convince his colleagues who backed him to support Mr. Scalise too. Mr. Jordan lost to Mr. Scalise 113–98 in a nomination vote earlier in the day, and Mr. Scalise needs to win 217 votes in a floor vote to become speaker.
