On this episode of Eat Better, we’re going to make a beautiful in-season fruit salad. But not just any fruit salad. This one has a star ingredient, and an unlikely one at that: Quinoa!
Quinoa is a whole grain, and whole grains are essential for a balanced diet. Quinoa is rich in fiber, which will help you stay full for longer. The other interesting aspect is that it’s the only grain to contain all nine essential amino acids. So, it’s a unique plant protein from that perspective.
It’s also very versatile. I’m using it in a sweet dish here, but it’s more commonly used in soups, salads, stews, as a side dish, or in curries. It’s a must-have ingredient for any health-conscious home cook or chef!
