On Nov. 29 from 3:30–4:30 p.m., join the freeman chair in China Studies for a discussion on the new book, Innovate to Dominate: The Rise of the Chinese Techno-Security State, featuring author Tai Ming Cheung, a professor at the School and director of the UC Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC) at UC San Diego, and moderated by Jude Blanchette, Freeman Chair in China Studies at Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
In the book, Cheung examines the key strategies guiding China’s transformation of its capabilities in the national, technological, military, and security spheres, and provides an assessment of whether China will outcompete the United States to become the largest technological and security power.
