The White House on Monday said the U.S. would not send an official delegation to the Beijing Winter Olympics in protest against Chinese human rights abuses, including Beijing’s treatment of Muslim Uyghurs in its western Xinjiang region.
Olympic boycotts have only happened six times in history.
