A Wisconsin Mother Teaching Her Son to Drive Was Shot to Death During a Road Rage Incident

A 46-year-old Wisconsin mom was shot to death in front of her 17-year-old son while she was teaching him to drive on Aug. 30.

Tracy Smith, a sergeant at the state Department of Corrections, was teaching her son how to drive, when their car was allegedly rammed by another vehicle at 51st Street and Capitol Drive, in Milwaukee.

Reportedly, Smith got out of the vehicle to talk to the driver, a 35-year-old male, when he drew a gun and shot her. The shooter then left the scene.

Milwaukee Police reported on Twitter: “MPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2019, at about 5:15 pm at N 51st/W. Capitol. This stemmed from a minor accident that occurred. The passenger of the vehicle that was hit got out and confronted the driver of the striking vehicle.”

“I don’t know what to say, but I know one thing, the way my daughter lost her life. It wasn’t right. It ain’t right,” said Ollie Luckett, the victim’s father.

The son tried to save his mom’s life by rushing her to the hospital. Life-saving measures were given, according to the Twitter post, but the attempts failed.

A 35-year-old man is arrested in connection to the shooting. Police are working on formal charges at the moment.
