The British government has added Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and six other oligarchs to its sanction list over the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They are accused of having the “blood of the Ukrainian people … on their hands.” Abramovich is targeted with an asset freeze, including the Chelsea football club. The government has issued a special licence for Chelsea to continue to operate.
