Actor Jon Voight Makes Statement on President Trump and the ‘Angered Left’

By Colin Fredericson

Actor Jon Voight said President Trump is not a racist, in a video message he posted on social media.

“My fellow Americans, too many are angered at the words of racism. This has been a big issue for the black community since the Civil War. But this has been solved long ago by our forefathers, for peace and love,” Voight said in a video posted to his Twitter account.

“It seems that the angered left, and angered minorities, want to hold President Trump accountable for past lives,” Voight adds. “You see, we have been gifted with truth. And as I see it, anger is among the old chains that were binding to the people of slavery. Old wounds that still seem fresh.”

Voight then mentioned the holocaust as one of the old wounds. He then contrasts that with the United States and its founding.

“This is the United States of America, a nation built on trust and liberty, a soil of greatness. A land of opportunities where all can grow and succeed with freedom. A nation of greatness,” Voight adds.

Voight then goes on to challenge the criticism President Trump receives from those who don’t support him.

“We must understand that this is a nation of liberty, and this president is honoring all. He is not a racist, but a man who loves his country, and has every intention to make this land great again,” Voight adds.

“Let us vote for this country’s safety, and may all the angered left find truth—what truth stands for—God, liberty, justice for all. God bless,” Voight adds, to end the video.

Voight stars as the titular characters father on Showtime’s “Ray Donovan.” He has won an Oscar and multiple Golden Globes for his acting work, according to Showtime. He is also the father of actress Angelina Jolie.

Voight has supported Trump since before the 2016 election. Although he has not sent out many tweets since he joined in the summer of 2016, the majority of his tweets are those expressing support for President Trump.

In what appears to be his most popular tweet, with over 114,100 likes, 37,000 retweets, and 20,300 comments, Voight gave Trump’s presidency the ultimate praise.

“So let us stand with our president. Let us stand up for this truth, that President Trump is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln,” Voight said in Part 2 of his May 24 Twitter video.

In March, The Hollywood Reporter said that President Trump was nominating Voight to the board of trustees for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. A look at the webpage for the Kennedy Center confirms his appointment. His term should last until September 2024.

Jon Voight’s Upcoming Movies

Voight is set to star in at least three upcoming movies, “J.L. Family Ranch 2,” “Roe v. Wade,” and “Reagan,” according to IMDB.

Voight told Daily Mail, via the YouTube channel for Roe v. Wade The Movie, that the movie will explore aspects of the controversial abortion court case that have never been explored before.

“Really people are talking about it and getting excited about it and getting upset about it, and they know anything about it. So thank God somebody said ‘Let’s make a movie about it and show all the aspects,” Voight said about the upcoming movie. “The script was just loaded with information that I’d never heard before.”

The movie is set to be released this year, although no exact date has been announced. The movie is a production of Alveda King, the niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., according to the YouTube page for the film trailer.
