A woman from Winston County, Alabama, was kidnapped at gunpoint by two men in Double Springs after she had pulled over because of a flat tire. She was held captive for several days before escaping.

Police said, the woman, whose identity has not been made public, said she didn’t know where she had been held captive for those several days. The woman managed to escape at one point when she asked if she could use the bathroom, WBMA reported.

That’s when she decided to run away. She hid in a cornfield in Limestone County and started walking after that. Eventually, she reached the house of her rescuing angel, Ms. Lynn Hobbs.

“I didn’t feel comfortable at the door when I seen her. No, I didn’t. But when she started begging for the police to be called, I thought, ‘something ain’t right,'” Hobbs said.

Hobbs notified the police. Following a medical examination, the woman was released. Police are still looking for the two men.

The danger of kidnapping is something always to be aware of. Last month an attempted kidnapping happened at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and there was another attempt in Santa Ana, California by a woman who posed as a social worker.

Woman Tries to Kidnap 2 Children at Atlanta Airport, Parents Wrestle to Protect Them

A woman was arrested for attempting to kidnap two children at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport while the parents wrestled to protect them on June 22.

Esther Daniels walked over to where the family was standing and tried to snatch a stroller with a child sitting in it. The shocking surveillance video taken inside the airport shows the child’s mother fighting with Daniels.

When she couldn’t grab the first child, she tried to lift the family’s second child, and this time the child’s father stepped in, reported WSBTV.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the baby in the stroller was a girl while the other child was a 6-year-old boy.

At that point, an Atlanta police traffic control officer who witnessed the commotion ran across the airport atrium to prevent the kidnapping and then ran after Daniels.

Three other officers put her down on the ground before arresting her and taking her away in a wheelchair.

Woman Posed as Social Worker and Tried to Kidnap Newborn Baby: Police

A woman in California claimed she was a social worker and tried to take a week-old baby, police said.

The situation unfolded on May 31 in Santa Ana.

The woman, who identified herself as Mayella Ortega, went to the house of the baby and told the mother she was going to take the newborn into protective custody, reported ABC.

The woman who claimed to be Ortega did not provide any documentation backing up her claimed status of a social worker.

When the mother asked the woman questions, the woman told the mother she would leave but would come back with the sheriff’s department.

“No, you don’t want to take my baby,” the mother said she told the woman. “I say, if the sheriff has to come in, that’s fine, but I don’t want to give you my kid.”

The suspect then walked away and departed in a white SUV. Footage released by the Santa Ana Police Department showed a middle-aged woman with short black hair.

Social services said no one named Mayella Ortega works there and also said there has been no probe linked to the home where the suspect visited.

The woman was later apprehended after the footage was broadcast and the mother went to the police station to identify her. “It’s her,” the woman said.
