Alan Dershowitz on the Perils of Impeachment

On Monday, the House will send over the article of impeachment to the Senate, which by law, means a trial will start on Tuesday.

The single article against former President Trump accuses him of “incitement of insurrection” after the deadly breach of the Capitol on January 6. It says President Trump engaged in “high Crimes and Misdemeanors by willfully inciting violence against the Government of the United States.” It makes particular reference to the speech he gave at the rally that day.

We’re joined by Alan Dershowitz, Harvard Law School professor emeritus, one of the country’s leading constitutional experts, and arguably, the country’s leading proponent of free speech. He was also on President Trump’s legal team during his first impeachment trial.
