Amazing daughter shaves head to join her beloved mother in cancer fight

Mother and daughter relation is purely out of the world; the love and faith they share is boundless, and way beyond life. This is one such sweet real-life story!

Long flawless hair is a source of pride and envy for most women. But the opposite is true for Rebecca Slivinsky, who willingly shaved her head to encourage her mum in fighting breast cancer.

Last Christmas, the college student from Georgia visited her mum in Connecticut when she found out that her mum has been losing hair from the side effects of her cancer treatment.

In a heartwarming video clip that showed their strong bond, Rebecca, draped in a hooded jacket, asked her mum to close her eyes to receive a surprise gift – a beautiful red scarf.

But the bigger surprise came as she looked up and saw a smiling Rebecca in her new haircut.

“Becky, you did not. I can’t believe you did that for me,” said her mum in tears.

They both hugged as they shared a beautiful moment.

“I love it. Now, we’re twins,” Rebecca replied.

Emotional support is especially important for cancer patients, who undergo intense feelings of fear, anxiety and distress. In the name of wonder, a positive outlook may well be the best medicine for a speedier recovery.
