American and European astronauts on spacewalk to ready ISS

Two astronauts went for a walk in space outside the International Space Station (ISS). One was NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough and the other was a European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Thomas Pesquet.

They are preparing the space station for future commercial crew missions and performing maintenance.

The spacewalk will go on for six hours, and will be followed by another one on March 30. In total, there will be three spacewalks.

In the next spacewalk, Kimbrough will be joined by NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson.
