Americans Shopped More Than Expected in January

U.S. retail sales saw a solid rebound last month, after that sharp pullback in December. The Commerce Department said today retail sales rose just shy of 4 percent in January, nearly double what was predicted. But experts say, don’t read too much into the jump in January’s numbers.
