Cardinal Zen appeared in court in Hong Kong. He was arrested under China’s national security law for allegedly colluding with foreign forces and being involved with an organization that helped pro-democracy protesters in 2019. The cardinal plans to offer a mass Tuesday night, which is the World Day of Prayer for the Church in China.
NTD spoke with ambassador Andrew Bremberg, president and CEO of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, on what Cardinal Zen’s arrest means for religious freedom in the city and why Americans should be concerned.
