Lucky’s Market has enjoyed customer loyalty for offering organic foods at lower prices than other supermarkets.

About four years ago, Kroger bought a majority stake in the chain. That propelled the grocery store to expand quickly but after Kroger pulled out, it left Lucky’s floundering.

It’s closing most of its stores now after declaring bankruptcy and its founders are trying to preserve the remaining markets.
