Three Arizona Republicans sent a letter to Maricopa County’s Board of Supervisors last week.
One of the congressman, Andy Biggs, said in a statement, “Americans and Arizonans must have full confidence in our election processes and systems in order to maintain the bedrock of our constitutional republic.”
He said, although Arizona’s elections are more transparent and accountable than other states, there have been some issues raised this year.
He said they’re calling on the board to “go above and beyond to assure the public of the integrity of Maricopa County’s elections. Let’s leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of accountability and transparency.”
Last week, the Arizona Republican Party filed a lawsuit to get a hand recount by precinct rather than voting center. The suit claims Maricopa County set up far fewer vote centers than precincts, and that hand-counting by precinct could be more accurate.
