It’s amazing to watch how this talented artist carves an eagle out of a stone.
Carving stone is difficult to shape perfectly, because of its density and unpredictability.
Some artists are inspired by the internal structure of the stone itself while they carve. The Renaissance artist Michelangelo, for example, claimed that his carving was aimed at freeing the human form trapped in the stone. Other artists plan what they want to carve and draw a general outline on the stone itself, like the artist in the video.
But what’s more difficult is making the artwork appear lifelike.
The finished work of this eagle sculpture is truly captivating, as one comment reads: “Even a real eagle would feel jealous of this,” and another says it “fantastic.”
