Asylum Claim Backlog Grows to Historic Level

Most of the stories about immigration highlight the chaos at the southwest border. But in fact, the entire immigration system in the United States is stressed, even for people who’ve come to the United States legally. About half a million asylum seekers legally in the States are living in a constant state of uncertainty, compounded by the threat of persecution in their home countries.
