Authorities Remove Vendor Kiosks Without Warning in Qiqihar, China

A district government of Qiqihar City in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang, China, suddenly removed dozens of shop units without warning or proper paperwork.

The units had been operating there for over twenty years. The vendors were people with disabilities or those who were vulnerable to being laid off. Many relied on the units to make a living.
