A 6-month-old girl died after she was found unresponsive in a car at Ray Mellert Park, in Medina, Ohio.
Police responded to the park at around 2:13 p.m. on Saturday, July 14. The unresponsive child was taken to Medina Hospital, where efforts to revive her were unsuccessful. The girl was left in a hot car for two and a half hours, police told NEWS 5 Cleveland.
Local temperatures soared to 90 plus Fahrenheit degrees on Saturday.

The case is still under investigation by the Medina Police Department and Medina County Coroner—no one has been charged. Forrest Thompson, the Medina County prosecutor, told FOX 8 that his office is waiting for results from the coroner’s office.
Based on public records from the Medina Police Department, they do list the accident as reckless homicide—a third-degree felony.
The accident happened during a youth baseball playoff tournament. “Our community carries a very heavy heart at this time as we mourn the loss of a young child,” Medina Youth Baseball Association President Bob Huntley said.
