Baby Silas was born to Chelsea Phillips 26 weeks early into his mother’s pregnancy. That’s pretty incredible in itself but add to that the fact that Silas was born in his still unruptured amniotic sac and you have a true miracle. Silas was still receiving oxygen through his umbilical cord, but all premature babies are at risk when born underdeveloped. Silas came into this world 3 months early and remained in the hospital right up until his anticipated due date. Dr. William binder, who delivered Silas, said that this type of birth is extremely rare and he will never forget it. Neither will his mom.
