A baby who weighed only one and a half pounds upon birth has beaten very slim odds to survive, it has been reported.
Hanna Rose, 25, of the United Kingdom, gave birth to the boy, named George, three months prematurely in July 2018, reported the Daily Mail.
The child was placed on life support just minutes after his delivery.
"After the doctors said he wouldn’t make it five times, every day is special."

Doctors told Rose and father Daniel Bownes that the boy would die after he contracted meningitis and contracted sepsis four times, the report said. It added that he got more than 20 blood transfusions in all.
The boy is now nine months old and has made what some have described as a miraculous recovery.
Rose told the Mirror: “The doctors told us George had a one in a million chance of surviving and it was almost impossible that he’d pull through.”
“Each and every day we have with him is a true blessing,” she said.

“I was convinced he was going to die so it’s truly a miracle that he’s here with us,” Rose said, according to the Mail.
When he was born, George was sent to the intensive care unit and was put into a “plastic sandwich bag”-looking device inside an incubator, his mother said.
Reports noted that George, upon birth, appeared no larger than a syringe.
“He was given immediate surgery,” Rose said, according to the Daily Mail. “We couldn’t touch him because he was born with transparent skin.”
The boy underwent surgery for necrotizing enterocolitis and suffered a swollen liver, losing 40 percent of his blood in the process.
As a result of his premature birth, the boy also got sepsis and meningitis. Doctors then told his parents there was nothing they could do and suggested his death was near.

A hospital chaplain was called in to give the boy his final blessing, the Mail reported.
But after he got the blessing, George’s vital signs started to improve despite staff telling the parents that he would likely die.
The boy now weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces at nine months, the report said.
But George still requires a seventh heart surgery, his family said. According to a GoFundMe page for the boy, “George has proved everyone wrong and gone against everything the professionals know and I believe he is going to carry on doing that. I believe with the right help George will thrive, but early intervention is key.”
His parents said they’re hoping to give him between 40 and 60 minutes of physiotherapy every two weeks.
It said, “George’s infection marker was up so high the medical staff had never seen anyone survive it. But as hours passed whilst we was waiting to get George baptised and for his nan nans to be with us he began to show slight improvement, he was still fighting !! The tiniest bit of hope gave us a whole new strength to fight with him.”
They added, “We was overwhelmed with a lot of information which all seems like a blur. We was told that his life support was going to be switched off and we would take him into the room with us we’re we could be alone, we would chose him some clothes and a professional photographer would come. My baby boy hadn’t even opened his eyes yet and seen his mummy or daddy, or managed to cry.”
