One person is dead and at least two others are in critical condition after a gunfight outside a Florida apartment complex over a suspected drug deal gone bad.

Deputy Chris Beaman with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit announced at a press conference on the night of Aug. 15, that a gunfight had claimed the life of one man at the Ridgestone Apartments, 12429 Little Road, in Hudson, Florida.

Two others were in critical condition in Bayonet Point hospital, and a third was still at large.

Deputy Beaman said deputies responded to a call at 7:55 p.m. to reports of multiples shooters battling in the Apartment complex parking lot. When deputies arrived, they found one person dead.

A Nissan Altima was crashed into a ground-floor apartment, with a critically wounded person inside. Another person had also been shot and wounded severely.

Susan Begin, a resident at the complex, described the scene to the Tampa Bay Times.

Deputy Beaman said there was a lot of cash scattered across the parking lot as well.

“People were terrified,” said Begin, 53. “There were pills and everything all over the parking lot. There was blood all on the parking lot.”

Deputies put out an alarm for a red 2007 Mitsubishi Montero registered to Alexas Gregas that had fled from the shooting. They also put out an alert for 21-year-old Kiyondrea Redfield. According to the comments on the post, the car model should be a Mitsubishi Outlander.

The car turned up the next day, according to a post by Jack Gerald Strahan.
