Balancing Digital Communication, Face-to-Face Interaction Key to Authentic Human Connection: Psychologist

A study called “Future 100: 2024” by VML business services providers found that people are seeking authentic human connection now more than ever. Meanwhile, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in five U.S. adults is suffering from a mental illness, with the rate among young people even higher. The trend is being driven by health challenges posed by social media, the NIMH says.

To find out more, NTD spoke to Tara Quinn-Cirillo, a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)-registered counselling psychologist in the UK and an associate fellow at the British Psychological Society, who says finding a balance between connecting digitally and in person is the key to meaningful human connection.
