Stubborn eagle refuses to let go of his catch and “swims” to shore

Can eagles swim? Well, not exactly, but they can paddle their wings to move in the water! This dignified eagle on the video caught an enormous fish with his talons when he was in the middle of a large body of water. But, the eagle quickly found that this large fish was too heavy for him to fly away with.  Instead of taking the wiser course of simply releasing his catch and flying away to find something else to eat, this eagle stubbornly clutches his prey in his talons and paddles clumsily back to shore.

Unfortunately, his decision was followed by older and more mature eagles who took his prize fish away as soon as he reached the shore, not even allowing him a bite of his well earned catch.

You may enjoy watching this video of an eagle trying to “swim”, but we recommend skipping the eagles devouring the fish, as it might be a bit gory for the faint of stomach.
