Banana tree fiber: strong, environmentally friendly fabric!

Banana fiber has been used by Japanese since the 13th century for the purpose of clothing and other household products. Today these fiber are commonly use in many parts of the world .

The fiber originates from the trunk of the banana tree which is an agricultural waste. Through a softening process the fibre will be extracted by a machine process and yarn will be produced from there onward.

With the increasing environmental awareness and growing importance of eco-friendly fabrics, banana fiber has also been recognized for all its good qualities. Check out the techniques they use in the video below!
