Police in Atlanta on the hunt for a man they say has stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from local banks, by impersonating different customers.

Sgt. Paul Cooper says: “Bold, he’s educated. He knows what he’s doing. He knows which accounts to hit.”

And so far, has gotten away with more than 100-grand in cash.

Cooper says: “The MO is the same he is using fake identification and document and has the account numbers when he walks into the bank.”

Says there are at least four victims in his crimes, stretching across the state from the Sandy Springs area to Columbus. The man uses people’s real personal information to make bogus IDs and then withdraws cash from their accounts.

Cooper says “He is placing his own picture on those when he approaches the counter.”

Meaning he has to resemble his victims to trick the teller.

Cooper says: “All of the victims have similar physical characteristics, same age, same race, similar height and weight.”

How they believe the suspect meets his victims and better yet how does he know what they look like?

Cooper says “Maybe they have the same doctors same lawyers or someplace where they are doing business.”

Investigators aren’t ruling out the possibility he’s worked at a bank before.

Mitchell asks: “That’s possible to. Are they all SunTrust banks? Yes, all that we have so far. Yes.
Cooper says: “Once somebody gets into your personal information it’s kind of hard to not stop looking over your shoulder after that because you don’t know when they are going to get you again and if they’ve done this what else are they capable of doing.”

This is a CrimeStoppers case, you’re eligible for a 2-thousand dollar reward if your information leads to an arrest as well as an indictment of the suspect.
