This barista from South Korea is taking latte art to the next level!

Float away on the art in your coffee cup created by this extraordinary barista–he makes your whole day worthwhile with his beautiful latte art.

Lee Kangbin says on Bored Panda, “I wanted to find amazing and delicate new flavor of coffee, so I developed Cremart.”

He literally uses your latte as a canvas to paint gorgeously detailed paintings in your coffee cup. From cult films classics like ET, Disney animations, to fine art creations, and even a commemoration for the tragic sinking of the Sewol ferry off the coast of Korea, Kangbin is changing the face of latte art.

Kangbin says, “many people like my Cremart. I hope here I’ll find some more people who will enjoy it. Thank you!”

Just look at these jaw-dropping photos of art in your coffee!

“I wanted to surpass the limitations of traditional latte art by introducing colors and a wider range of designs,” Lee told Perfect Daily Grind. “I think it’d be a great addition to the art bar section of the WLAC (World Latte Art Championship), and I hope to breathe new life into an otherwise isolated path in the industry.”

Latte art mainly has two forms: free pouring and etching. Free pouring is made by pouring steamed milk into a cup of espresso, creating a pattern or design with the microfoam on the surface of the coffee. Etching is using a tool to create a pattern or drawing after the pour. It can create intricate drawings such as flowers, images of animals, or cartoon figures.

Latte art is rapidly growing in South Korea. The 2015 World Latte Art Champion was Korean-born latte barista, Caleb Cha, who represented Australia. Last year, Um Paul of South Korea won the 2016 World Latte Art Championship. And this year, the young barista, Lee Kang Bin led the latte art world in an amazingly creative new direction, with colorful latte art etchings.

Having mastered the etching style of the latte art, Lee can turn a cup of latte into almost any pattern, scene, image, or character. With a delicate metal rod and a palette of food dyes, Lee has become one of the baristas who led the trend in South Korea. His art has attracted much attention among South Korean baristas, with many starting to learn from him. Lee has also won tens of thousands of fans on Instagram, with his talented and innovative designs.
