A beautician took her own life after being released from a hospital, against a psychiatrist’s recommendation.

Monika Maria Nos, described by her close friend as “positive, open and happy,” had “religiously” read up on suicide online before she killed herself, according to reports.

Nos, 29, worked as a beautician in Manchester, UK. She was detained as suffering from psychosis at a hospital last January, the Manchester Evening News reported.

She suffered from an “acute medical episode” that lead her to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment. She reportedly fell into severe depression after losing clients at her job.

After appearing to get a little better, she was sent home, against the advice of a consultant psychiatrist, according to the Daily Mail.

She reportedly researched methods of suicide shortly before her death, and sent a message to her flatmate that read, “We need to prepare for the party—I love you xxx” the Daily Mail reported.

Nos was found dead in a park minutes from her flat in October last year.

‘Open and Friendly’

Nos, a Polish national, moved to the UK about 10 years ago.

Her cousin described Nos as, “very open person, very friendly,” according to the Mirror.

“She was always interested in fashion and beauty. I don’t think she had any problems with making relationships, she was good at making friends.

“She was always a very strong person. She was interested about veganism and helping people sort out their problems.”

According to the newspaper, the coroner recorded a conclusion to the suicide saying that Nos had “intended to take her own life.”

“I accept the evidence that she improved somewhat, but contrary to the psychiatrist’s view, as an experienced clinician, she was given a deferred discharge,” the coroner said, the Mail reported.

“She went to Stepping Hill hospital where she was ultimately discharged from their care.

“I find from the evidence that there was no third party involvement and I find that the actions were taken by Monika.”

‘Lost her passion’

Her friend and flatmate, Daria Kietla told the hearing that Nos decided to move to Manchester because of her boyfriend.

“We decided to live together and rent a house in 2017. We were best friends.

“She was positive, open, happy. Because I was so close with her I did not realise that something had happened to change that.”

Ketia revealed that Nos’s father had taken his own life when she was a little girl, according to reports.

‘When she came back, we tried to push her to find a job. She had a business before, but she lost a lot of clients,” Ketia said, according to Metro.

“She said that she had lost her passion for nails. We wanted to put her in the hospital, but she said that hospital was the worst thing in her life and she didn’t want to go back there.”

According to the Manchester Evening News, Police coroners’ officer Nicola Boyle “From September 10, she had searched suicide religiously. Monika intended on ending her life that night.”

“She was a beautiful, stunning, funny lady.”
