Beijing Replaces English Words on Transit Signs

The Chinese Communist Party seems to be embracing a new step in decoupling with the international community. At least where language is concerned.

The city is taking down English names, replacing them with romanized Chinese, or pinyin instead. Pinyin is the phonetic spelling of Chinese words using English letters.
