Ben Affleck’s Batman movie is one of the most anticipated new DC movie releases. After Affleck’s great performance as Bruce Wayne in “Batman v Superman,” DC put him in charge of directing his own Batman solo film, but Matt Reeves ended up taking the job. Affleck wanted to focus on his character, and didn’t feel he could focus 100 percent as both star and director.

Recently, co-star Joe Manganiello, who will play Deathstroke in the new movie, told audiences what to expect. There are still a lot of unknowns, but DC wants to give fans a quality experience.

Manganiello told Robert Irvine Magazine why the new Batman movie is still delayed.

“The creative process needs to be respected and no one involved in this film wants to make anything less than an unbelievable film, a legendary film. The movie will start shooting whenever those pieces are in place and we know this is gonna be something that we’re proud of. What we’re not gonna do is be backed into a start date, scrambling to get something off the ground just to get it off the ground. Everyone involved wants to make this the best film possible, so that’s really what it’s about.”

Warner Bros. is probably looking for feedback from the upcoming “Justice League” before it makes any definite scheduling promises. As seen from early trailers, Batman is the main organizer behind the Justice League as a team.

Things didn’t go as well as hoped for the last two DC movies, “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v Superman,” so being cautious with what gets out there and working to fulfill audience expectations has been the primary concerns over at a palpably nervous and tense Warner Bros.

Not much is known about the plot of the movie except that a notorious Batman nemesis, Deathstroke, will be present to cause the Caped Crusader all sorts of trouble, and perhaps cause all sorts of mayhem in Gotham.

In the comics, Deathstroke, like Captain America, was the subject of a super soldier experiment. In Deathstroke’s case, the experiment had bad side effects, and caused his exit from the military. Though he was stronger and more capable, he got involved with the wrong crowd and became an assassin. That’s why his original name was Deathstroke the Terminator. He first appeared in the “Teen Titans” comics. Joe Manganiello will have to study the role as the sword carrying assassin to perfection if he wants to compete with what Ben Affleck’s Batman has already shown audiences.
