Beware: Coca-Cola Zero may not have sugar, but they have other health risks

In 2005 we witnessed a birth of a new drink – Coca Cola Zero. With zero sugar inside and almost no calories (0.3 kcal per 100ml) it was supposed to be a great alternative for those who want to stay slim and healthy, but still has the original flavor  of coke. So is it really true what the company says – that the Coca Cola Zero has no sugar so it’s safe to drink? In the internet we can even find experiments like this:

The experiment tries to prove that Coca Cola Zero has no sugar and this was proved pretty well. But does that mean that Coca Cola Zero is good for your health? Absolutely not! Despite having no sugar, it contains aspartame a sugar substitute found in many no-calorie, no-sugar sodas. Scientific research shows that there is a very clear link between aspartame and cancer. Also Coca Cola Zero has absolutely no nutritional value. It’s sweet taste can also stimulate the craving for other sweet foods, and also confuse body’s ability to accurately estimate the number of calories you consume.

Bottom line – Coca Cola Zero is not healthy and drinking this soda poses certain health risks. I don’t know if the author of the experiment was paid by Coca Cola Company, or maybe he is just a big fan of soft drinks, but such conclusions should be made public after such experiments were performed. Not doing so leaves the viewer with the presumption that Coca Cola Zero does not have sugar, and might be a great substitute for standard Coca Cola. And that is an entirely wrong conclusion to draw.
