Biden Declares ‘Major Disasters’ in New York, New Jersey

At least 44 people have died and four are still missing in New York and New Jersey after the remnants of Hurricane Ida swept through the Northeast. The storm’s death toll has risen to at least 68. President Joe Biden Monday declared parts of the two states major disaster areas, and he plans to visit them Tuesday.
