President Joe Biden is to make another effort to dissuade Israel from carrying out its intended Rafah offensive during a virtual meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Monday. That’s according to State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, who spoke to reporters at a Monday press briefing.

Mr. Miller said the administration will try to convince Mr. Netanyahu that refraining from attacking the Southern Gazan city of Rafah will be better for Israel’s own national security. That came after a reporter questioned the spokesman about whether the United States has lost some of its influence over Israel with regard to its war against the Hamas terrorist organization.
