President Biden has signed two more executive orders. One focuses on providing virus relief by giving Americans easier access to food assistance. The other requires federal contractors to pay their employees a certain amount.
One of Biden’s new executive orders aims to help families hit hard by the virus. It directs the Department of Agriculture to consider taking steps to help these families get more food and nutrition assistance benefits.
His second executive order requires federal contractors to increase their minimum wage to $15 an hour.
Biden said the $900 billion relief package passed in December was just a “down payment” and that we need more action.
But some Republicans have questioned whether a second, larger relief bill is needed.
